For over thirty years, Ian has been a beacon of guidance for families, couples, and individuals. Rooted in a deep understanding of their distinct needs and challenges, he offers a flexible approach to scheduling, ensuring everyone is accommodated.

A substantial part of Ian’s practice is devoted to individuals, couples and families. In addition, Ian extends his expertise by providing clinical supervision to numerous therapists, both in private practice and within community organizations.

As a passionate clinical educator, Ian regularly imparts his clinical knowledge across various organizations and healthcare institutions, with a particular emphasis on mental health, addictions, and trauma.

In his practice, Ian has consistently stood as a beacon of support for individuals who have endured various traumatic situations, ranging from domestic violence to significant traumatic incidents. His dedication to trauma-informed care stands as a cornerstone of the agency’s ethos.

Further enriching his professional depth, Ian collaborates closely with several community services and institutions. He holds the position of Regional Clinical Supervisor for Addictions and Mental Health at the Niagara Health System. His rich background includes service as a clinical therapist in diverse settings, coupled with active participation in community development initiatives. Michelle Graham

Michelle’s vast experience in the realm of addictions and mental health is noteworthy. She leads mindfulness groups at the agency, catering to clients with conditions such as anxiety, depression, substance use, and ADHD. Her previous roles include positions at Withdrawal Management Services at the Niagara Health System. She has also completed her clinical practicum focusing on mental health at the NHS.

Michelle has benefited from clinical supervision under Natalie Zlodre, a respected trauma specialist. Additionally, she’s an instructor at Wilfred Laurier University, where she teaches online courses emphasizing trauma and addiction. Below are some of the most noted approaches:

Julia Roat

MSW, RSW

Education

Julia Roat has worked in the Mental Health field for 25 years. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults. Julia has a strong interest in trauma and attachment and recognizes how adverse childhood experiences, trauma, and attachment trauma can impact a person in a multitude of ways.

Julia started her career as an Applied Behaviour Analyst working with children with Autism and their families. Julia continued to work extensively with children and families through individual counselling and family/caregiver support. She has also enjoyed working with parents in the context of pregnancy, adoption and the post-partum period.

About Work

Julia currently works in the Niagara Health System Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. In Outpatient Mental Health she has supported the Children’s clinic, adults struggling with severe mental illness, addictions and homelessness.

Julia is passionate about her work in helping clients meet their mental health goals.

Candice Rousseau

Candice has worked in the field of social work for over 15 years where she has and continues to work with ethnically and culturally diverse adolescents and adults experiencing financial hardship, unemployment, substance misuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic and acute health issues, grief and loss, and various dementia diagnoses.

Candice prides herself on a therapeutic approach that is collaborative, authentic, empathetic, compassionate, genuine, and non-judgmental that fosters an environment for a strong therapeutic bond to form with a focus on helping individuals work toward improving their self-compassion and self-awareness to achieve a greater sense of hope, joy, healing, and inner peace.

Candice utilizes an attachment theory and trauma-informed lens to create the foundation of her work with the purpose of helping individuals identify how their current life challenges, feelings and coping mechanisms are intertwined with their early life experiences.
